Client: Selfridges – Flagship Retail Environment

Launch Date: 2023–2024

Scope:

Project Overview:
EDC Fire Protection was appointed to deliver a comprehensive programme of passive fire protection works within a flagship Selfridges retail store. The project required extensive coordination to ensure full compliance while maintaining uninterrupted trading operations.

Our Approach:
Works included complex fire stopping to mixed-service penetrations, replacement of certified fire doors throughout public and back-of-house areas, and the installation of fire barriers above ceilings and within service voids. A key element of the project was compartmentation line tracing and reinstatement, alongside remedial works to legacy installations that no longer met current standards.
All works were carefully sequenced around trading hours, ensuring zero impact to customer-facing areas. EDC worked closely with facilities and project management teams to deliver a seamless programme.

Outcome:
The project resulted in enhanced compartmentation, improved fire integrity, and full compliance assurance. Detailed photographic reporting and certification were provided, giving the client complete confidence in the long-term safety of the building.
